New Year

Hers's to the New Year,
May it be filled with family and friends and trusting in God. Some people get sad when the decorations come down, but Christmas is in the hearts of believers so the joy never ends. Time to look forward to Spring and warmth sunshine and the return of my Chickadees! I hope I can stay to bring in the new hear, I'll let you know. I think New Years eve is for the young folks!

Wonderful counselor

Isaiah 9:6
He will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.
700 years before the birth of Christ this was prophesied. God had it in his plans for us. With a God so great and mighty I feel secure giving all my circumstances in his hands. He's never let me down. He's the same yesterday, today and tomorrow.

Grotto Festival of lights

It's been years since we went to the Grotto Festival of lights. They have added a lot more lights and we enjoyed the High School choir music in the Church. Finally a dry evening to go!
Remember that Jesus is the reason for the season! The greatest miracle ever

Mom

Wow it's been 18 years since my Mom passed away. That was a very difficult Christmas. We we're mourning, yet we wanted the kids to have the kind of Christmas that kids have, and Mom would have wanted that for them. She loved all the grandkids so much. She would call me on the phone and in her blunt way would blurt out "I wanna see Ryan and Alicia" ok be right over! She fought hard to keep going because she didn't want to leave her family. She and I grew closer during that time. She was more affectionate towards me. So yes thanks Alan for the reminder though I've been thinking about her all week. But time heals though I miss her,she loved and trusted God so she's in heaven waiting for us to join her one day!

Six months

I'm really into dates these days, I'm not sure why? But Dec 1st was six months since Les and I had the consult with Dr. Stigler. I can really say it was one of the most awful days of my life. We left for Hawaii the next day. I was fighting depression while trying to have fun and wanted Les to have fun. It got better as the week progressed. But that morning he layed it all out for me, I don't think he expected me to be doing as well as I am by this time. Yes I'm not in perfect health but I still walk, drive, ride my stationary bike. He wanted to put a feeding tube in right away and I said no thanks, not at this time. I have to eat different but I wasnt't ready to give it up. I've read other stories of people living way longer than the doctor told them they would. God has the final say and will call me home when he's ready.
Have a great day,
Cathy

Love

1 John 4
7 Dear friends, let us love one another, for love comes from God. Everyone who loves has been born of God and knows God. 8 Whoever does not love does not know God, because God is love. 9 This is how God showed his love among us: He sent his one and only Son into the world that we might live through him. 10 This is love: not that we loved God, but that he loved us and sent his Son as an atoning sacrifice for our sins. 11 Dear friends, since God so loved us, we also ought to love one another. 12 No one has ever seen God; but if we love one another, God lives in us and his love is made complete in us.

13 This is how we know that we live in him and he in us: He has given us of his Spirit. 14 And we have seen and testify that the Father has sent his Son to be the Savior of the world. 15 If anyone acknowledges that Jesus is the Son of God, God lives in them and they in God. 16 And so we know and rely on the love God has for us.

God is love. Whoever lives in love lives in God, and God in them. 17 This is how love is made complete among us so that we will have confidence on the day of judgment: In this world we are like Jesus. 18 There is no fear in love. But perfect love drives out fear, because fear has to do with punishment. The one who fears is not made perfect in love.

19 We love because he first loved us. 20 Whoever claims to love God yet hates a brother or sister is a liar. For whoever does not love their brother and sister, whom they have seen, cannot love God, whom they have not seen. 21 And he has given us this command: Anyone who loves God must also love their brother and sister.
