Haleakala

We were up at 2:30 to get to Haleakala before sunrise. So were a lot of other people! It was cold and windy, but worth it. I wish we didn't have strangers in the pictures, though.

fire in paradise

We have a brushfire that has burned about 2000 acres nearby in Maalaea.

Here's a picture from the Condo. That pic was yesterday, today the fire is contained and it looks much better out there

Boogie Board

We bought a boogie board and I went in the shallow waves with it this morning. I've always had a fear of deep water and waves, I still do but the board offers some assurance! Cathy

Road to Hana

Today Les drove me on the road to Hana. Narrow and winding, but very beautiful scenery. Went past Hana and waded in one of the many pools. Saw a beach with balck rocks and sand.

Day 2 my little mermaid

Good morning, afternoon or whatever. We went for a morning walk on this wonderful beach. I found some coral, and then I saw something blue, it was this little mermaid. I wish we could stay here forever! Wed. was a crappy day for Les and I, but here we are starting to relax and not dwell on the negative. I'll post more later. We're off to explore here in a while.
