Walk beacuse we can!
What an amazing day! 2,600 people, it looked like even more, showed up for the Walk to Defeat ALS. It made me tear up to see that so many people care. There was a dj at the staging area, when the music started I was holding back the tears! Thanks to my family who donated. They raised nearly 300,000. Les walked with me, then we went to the Saturday Market and had some good food and entertainment. It was one day I'll always remember. Hope to do it again next year!

iphone
Les bought me an iphone because it also has the text to speech app. He's concerned that if I had to call 911 it wouldn't work to well. With this I can dial 911 then turn on the speech app. We tried it on our phones and it works fine. Yes I am spoiled rotten!

Wow kicks off today
Our Wow group started today, we had over 100 women show up for the morning group. I am at the table on the left with my back to the camera. I wasn't sure if I would go this year, but decided to go and just make sure the new gals know of my speech impairment. I just wore the name tag that Les made for me a while back. Everyone is so welcoming and loving there. Carolyn(the leader) was happy to see me and said to let her know if I need anything. The benefits of going far out weigh the temporary discomfort. I feel silly wearing a name tag but it's the easiest way to let people know. And I'll have my ipad with me of course. Had a lot of fun Sunday andMonday with the wieiner's, too. They have the neatest personalities! And smart, too. I still ove Puff, but it's fun to have Hunk and Sadies come to visit. Les slept with then on the sofa as they are used to bedding down with people. Looking forward to Alan and Greg and their wives Mary and Yvonne coming soon.

Oregon State Fair
Les and I went to the Oregon State Fair today. It takes all day to see it all. For dinner I ate a Whopper! I miss hamburgers, lately they seem a little easier to chew. I still lag behind Les, but I ate the whole thing.
I hope everyone is enjoying their holiday weekend.
