Utah and family

We had a great trip to Utah to see Dad and Alice. Greg and Yvonne were there but had to cut out the rest of their trip as Greg's cancer may be back. He tried so hard to make the time enjoyable while we were there. He's a very strong person. I did ok on the trip, I even drove some to give Les a break but pulled over when my hands gOt tired. I will post pictures later, today we are wiener sitting and Hunk insists on being in or near my lap, I don't mind as we are buddies. Pray for Greg this week that he will get better news on his cancer.

Cathy, Glad to hear you had a good trip to Utah. That is great you drove some, too. I'm sure Dad enjoyed having you all there. Very sorry to hear about Greg. Hoping everything will be ok. You and he are always in our prayers. Sounds like you have a good friend in Hunk. Hope the newlyweds are doing well and you and Les are recovering from it all.
We're having good summer weather, sunny, hot and 80s with nice thunderstorms at night. Alan is enjoying potatoes and onions from his garden.
love you lots,
Mary D.

Thanks Mary
We had a good trip. We all enjoyed ourselves. Long drive, Im amazed how many times Dad has done it! Sean and Alicia are getting used to married life. Puff's leg is getting worse, we'll take her to the vet and see if there's anything they can do. Hunk's a character but I enjoy him!

Cathy,
Enjoyed seeing the picture! Tony Grove lake is beautiful. Hope Puff will be ok. We have a cat at the vet right now-can't eat or drink because he might have got his mouth on a poisonous toad. Not sure what happened. Larch tree = firewood now?
Hope you are feeling ok and getting some sunshine.
love and prayers,
Mary D.

Poor Kitty! I hope he's ok. Yes more firewood. I tripped and fell (all three of us now) but landed in the grass. I was trying to go down the deck steps to get Puff and tripped over a board Les had put there to keep Puff from going up as she falls doing that! There must be something in the air? Hit my right arm and shoulder, nothing seems to be broken just sore. Waiting for news on Greg. I hope all is well in Chadron, say hi to your folks for me

Cathy-hope you are okay! Be careful.
Mom and Dad ask about you alot. Very sad to hear about Greg. Alan just read about a Ski for ALS next April at Mt. Hood in the ALS newsletter. Right up his alley! Les is brave to cut that tree down. Alan said he's too chicken to try that. :-)
Hang in there. We love you lots.

Cathy, Be very careful in whatever you do. Love you and Les very much. Dad and Alice

Thanks family, Alan I would be thrilled if you ski for ALS. If you do Les could take me up to watch! As Sharon D. Put it "Greg is a pillar of strength" he gets that strength from our heavenly father, may he continue to be strong as he goes through more chemo. I was reading a pals blog today and she said it's not the hand we are dealt with but how we play it. She's right.

Dad I know that was dumb tripping and falling, I should have kicked the board aside. When will I ever learn!?
Love you, too

My right humerus, the bone that goes from elbow to shoulder. Yeah I can feed myself, just takes longer. I have a sling to wear. I went three days before I went in, I thought it was a pulled muscle. A lot I can't do for awhile.

Cathy, Iam wearing a new shirt from Mary with the words Hope is a good thing. We hope every day. Love Dad and Alice

Hope is a good thing. It's what keeps all of us going. I saw that shirt online somewhere.

I know where Mary got the tee shirt, the money goes to ALS donations. I ordered one, too. I thought that sounded familiar. She is so thoughtful

Les is noticing how much I still did around the house now, the laundry, dishes, vacuuming, etc.

Cathy, you are one of the most inspiring people I know. And, yes, we all get dealt a hand and it is how we deal with it but, darn it, some people get some awfully difficult ones.
Hoping your shoulder is healing up and not too painful. Don't do too much and be sure to take it easy.
love you lots,
Mary D.

Cathy, We hope you are progressing on your shoulder. Have you been able to get some sleep ? And how is your weight doing ? Lots of love from Logan. Dad and Alice

The doctor said about 6 weeks to heal completely. Still sore, I'm at 112 pounds.
Love from Portland, Cathy
