Peg

Well I've put it off as long as I can, Friday I go in and get a peg feeding tube. I should have done it sooner but for so long my weight stayed the same. Then it took a nose dive. It's become pure misery to eat and not much better to drink. I still can with the peg but I won't have to as much. It's hard to describe what this has been like. Hard on Les, too. Still want and waiting for a second opinion. I just want to know without a doubt what disease I have. We are getting quotes on a new roof and planning a Wedding, plus me, busy time! I hope everyone likes pulled pork and chicken and side salads for the reception, that's the caterer we are looking at. Maybe we should have an vegetarian side dish? I don't know

Love, Cathy

It's done in day surgery. The same place where they did the endoscopy. I'll have to be careful not to pull it out

Cathy,
We'll be thinking of you tomorrow. Hope this will help with things. Yes, it sounds like you are very busy. Dad's right, everything works out with those wedding plans. The food sounds great! We are so looking forward to seeing everyone and celebrating.
Busy here, too, we pulled off all the paneling in the living room last weekend, waiting for the neighbor to texture the bare sheetrock, then I have to paint. It's a mess!
love,
Mary D.

I bet you will be glad to get rid of the paneling. Thanks for the encouragement. I should have done this sooner. Sunny and warmer here this morning.

I'm home with a sore tummy. The procedure went well but I was choking on the throat spray so it took longer to get me out. It feels weird to have it there, I hope I get used to it. The home health nurse will be out Saturday to show us how to use it and start me on formula.

Cathy,
Glad to hear you are home. I'm sorry to hear about the discomfort. I wish I could make it better for you. I'm glad you are telling us what you're going through. I just watched a video on a peg. So the tube comes out your abdomen? Wow. No wonder you're sore.
We are thinking of you. The sun came out for a little bit today. And a rainbow.
love and prayers,
Mary D.

Cathy, the soreness should go away. Give the process some time, and you will gain some weight and feel better overall. We leave Wednesday and will keep in touch. We love you and Les and all the kids. Dad and Alice

Hope you are doing okay with the peg and gaining some weight. How is the roof coming along? Hope all the plans are moving along smoothly.
Looks like I have a 4th day of painting ceilings and walls tomorrow.

Cathy, I'm glad you are letting us know what is going on. I am sorry to hear you are coughing so much. I hope it doesn't hurt too much. And hope the antibiotic and assist machine help and ease things. Will the new roof be asphalt shingle? wood shingles?
You hang in there-we send lots of good thoughts and love. See you soon.

Cathy, We just had our computer updated, and we have trouble with some of it . Is your cough associated with your pneumonia ? How is your weight problem going ? We have lots of questions , dont we ? May have to come out and help you guys do your roof. Alice has cataract surgery this Thursday so it would be after that. Love Dad and Alice

Yes I'm sure it is I'm on antibiotics and inhaler that I can't really use. A little better today. What a miserable thing!

Cathy Curths said...

I'll probably gain wt when the pneumonia is gone. I think I've had for awhile

Cathy,
How are you doing? Hope you aren't coughing so much and the antibiotic is helping. We are thinking of you.
And saying lots of prayers.

Mary

The antibiotic is helping and my blood work is improving
Les is looking for a mini nebulozer as the one here helps. I will probably have a cough assist machine at home. So many gadgets but that's ALS.
See you in July!
Love you

Hello Cathy. I hope you sleep well tonight. I stopped by to say heeloo, its been awhile since i have commented here. We have nice weather now. About 66 degrees at 9 o'clock pm, clear sky, low wind, and a full moon rising.
Garden is in and requires lots of weeding to get all the good stuff off to a start. Carrots are very difficult to establish because of competing vegetation. Love from Nebraska Big A

Mary can fill you in about me Alan. Been a tough week!

Anonymous said...

Cathy, yes, you have had a very tough week. How are you today? Are you still in the hospital? I hope you can go home soon. Are you waiting for the cough assist machine? That will help. I hope the sun is shining for you up there. You are going through so much. I wish we could make it better. See you soon.
We love you lots!

Cathy, Glad you are doing a little better. We are still in a recovery mode right now, so we will wait a bit more before we come out. Hope you can get somewhat better in the meantime, and we will see you soon . Love Dad and Alice

Cathy,
Glad you are home and doing better. Yes, you should keep a journal like your pastor suggested. Thanks for the call from Les, it was nice to talk to him. Sounds like the roof project went well. We are almost done with the remodel project here-the electrician was here the last two days, the new hall doors and trim start going up tomorrow. It will be nice to get things put back. Rained alot last night but the sun is out today. Hope you are healing and relaxing. Always thinking of you,
love, Mary

Thanks for the beautiful flowers! I learned a lesson about not going to the hospital when something is obviously wrong. They shouldn't have sent me home the first time we went, either. We had a nice dy today, but rain coming Saturday. Same thing next week!
See you soon
Hugs, Cathy

Cathy, I hope and pray you are healthy enough to write another blog entry soon. We have the rain good right now, Mikhael came home for a nice fathers day visit, it might be indoors though. Love, Greg

Cathy, Glad the flowers arrived! Just thought you and Les needed a good pick-me-up. You have both been through an awful lot. It's okay to be concerned about something not feeling right and going to the doc or hospital. We hope you are feeling better and healing up. Hope the sun peeks out once in awhile. Take it easy.
lots of love,
Mary
