Timeline

Saw a Resp. doctor yesterday. My lung function is somewhat decreased but co2 and o2 levels are still ok. He tried to give me a timeline as to how things progress. But each person is different so that's next to impossible to do. I wonder why the Doctors do that, perhaps so that if a change happens it won't be a shock. But there have been cases where a person was given a few years, and went on for 10-15 years. I want to be ready for anything, but I will leave each day in God's hands, "if God sends me to it, he'll bring me through it." Love, Cathy

Hi Cathy,I was reading your blog and I can't say as I have heard of P.M.A.From the way you talk your illness is very serious.I will keep you in my prayers. You have a beautiful attitude towards life, and such a sweet, sweet personality.I pray that I can be as strong as you are until they find out what is wrong with me.I do know the Lord said He would not put more on us than we are able to stand without making a way out for us.I know that reading your blog and others and reading the replys to my blog has made me smile again.God loves you and so do I, don't give up hang in there. Thank you, PMD or Motor Neuron Disease, is when Neurons fail, and when that happens they can't send a message to the muscles thru the spinal cord and that muscles dies. That's it in a nutshell. so far mine is in the lower motor neurons affecting speech, swallowing, my mouth area. My speech is better im am gets worse at night. They have to be careful when dx ing this because there are other things that have similar symptoms, such as strokes, etc. That's what the emg I had was important. It showed how my muscles react to a electrical current. But mnd is sometimes misdiagnosed. I can pray for that; but if the dx is right I want to accept it and live and love with the time the Lord gives me. I know that I have eternal life as I have accepted Jesus as my Lord and Saviour! Keep in touch Cathy Foster.
